New on Lori's Blog - How a Harlot Named Rahab Became an Example of Faith

Happy Wednesday!

Reader

“Behold, when we come into the land, you shall tie this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and you shall gather into your house your father and mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household.” Joshua 2:18

This month, we will celebrate women and examine four very special women in God's Word. Sarah, Hannah, Rahab, and Esther.

I finish our Women of the Bible with Rahab.

Rahab’s life is a beautiful example of the transforming power of faith. Although she had few spiritual advantages and little knowledge of the truth, her heart was drawn to God.

As you read through her story, there are some key themes to learn from.

Faith Can Overcome Labels: Rahab’s identity as a prostitute didn’t limit her from being part of God’s plan.

Lesson: God values faith and obedience over societal labels or past mistakes.

Courage in the Face of Fear: Rahab risked her life to protect the spies and align with God’s purposes.

Lesson: True faith requires boldness and trust in God’s protection.

God’s Redemption is for All: Rahab’s story shows that God’s grace extends to all people, regardless of their background.

Lesson: No one is beyond the reach of God’s transformative power.

The Power of Testimony: Rahab’s declaration of faith inspired the spies and likely influenced her family’s salvation.

Lesson: Sharing your faith can have a profound impact on others.

God Uses Unlikely People: Rahab, a Gentile, and an outsider, was chosen to play a pivotal role in Israel’s history.

Lesson: God often works through unexpected individuals to fulfill His purposes.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about a few more women God gave us as examples to follow in our faith walk!
