“And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation." 2 Sam 1

This month, we will celebrate women and examine four very special women in God's Word. Sarah, Hannah, Rahab, and Esther.

Today, I will continue our character study of women in the Bible by studying Hannah’s life and prayer.

Hannah’s humility and submission to God are strikingly evident in this prayer. She acknowledges God’s sovereignty and power, recognizing that it is only through God’s intervention that her barrenness can be lifted. Hannah’s prayer serves as a model for believers, reminding us of the importance of bringing our deepest desires and burdens before the Lord in heartfelt supplication (1 Peter 5:7).

As she poured out her heart to the Lord, she made no sound; only her mouth moved. The priest Eli thought she was drunk and told her to put away the wine. But Hannah answered him and told him she was not drunk but instead pouring out her heart to the Lord. After that, Eli told her that God would answer her prayer. And she left, no longer sad.

God heard the cry of Hannah’s heart and answered her prayer. In due time, she conceived and gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel, meaning “heard by God” (1 Samuel 1:19-20). True to her promise, once Samuel was weaned, Hannah brought him to the tabernacle to be presented to the Lord and entrusted to the care of the priest, Eli (1 Samuel 1:24-28).

Happy Wednesday! Reader "And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose, they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds...
